Final Table Reached At WPT Lucky Hearts Open

Final Table Reached At WPT Lucky Hearts Open

The second WPT final table this month sees some familiar names closing in on the $323,804 first prize

February might be the shortest month in the year but it is also the one with the most WPT action with four main event final tables on the schedule.  Of those four the Lucky Hearts Poker Open at the Seminole Hard Rock Casino in Florida could reasonably be said to be the least significant as it has to compete with the massive Borgata Winter Open and the prestigious LA Poker Classic at the Commerce. However, a decent showing from players in Florida has meant that the $750,000 guaranteed prize pool has been smashed and there will be in excess of a million dollars in the pot.

369 players were reduced to the 36 who made the money by the end of play on day 2, and of those still in contention were current WPT player of the year Joe Serock, former WPT Malta winner Matt Gianetti and Matt Salsberg who only a few days ago made the final table at the Borgata Winter Open.  Serock’s run ended when he ran his pocket 7s into kings to bust in 14th place, but the two Matts have fared much better and both have made it through to the six handed final table.

Seats and chip counts for the final are as follows:

Seat 1  Matt Giannetti  -  3,005,000  (75 bb)
Seat 2  Lily Kiletto  -  860,000  (21 bb)
Seat 3  Darryll Fish  -  2,660,000  (66 bb)
Seat 4  Matt Salsberg  -  980,000  (24 bb)
Seat 5  Hayden Fortini  -  1,620,000  (40 bb)
Seat 6  Danny Shiff  -  1,930,000  (48 bb)

This will be Saslberg’s third final table of WPT season XI so far after a 6th place at Borgata and victory in Paris. Those two results alone had already put him top of the WPT player of the year leaderboard, and a third big score here in Seminole will put him in a position that will be extremely hard to top. Even a 6th place finish here would give him the same number of leaderboard points as Serock won season X with, whilst a win would rack up the biggest leaderboard score ever, beating Daniel Negreanu’s season III score which came courtesy of his crazy year in 2004.

Play resumes later on 12th Feb with the final six battling it out for the following prizes:

1st $323,804

2nd $191,880

3rd $125,921

4th $86,946

5th $64,160

6th $50,968
