Betsson enters mobile social games sector
Online gambling operator Betsson AB has joined the mobile social games sector after partnering with OneUp Games LLC to launch MyFootball Connect.
OneUp Games is a Florida social sports games developer and its MyFootball Connect app is a bingo-style title that lets players compete against friends and family during live soccer matches.
Available via Apple’s App Store, MyFootball Connect is described as having ‘unique gameplay with a blend of skill and luck’ and comes complete with achievements, leaderboards and game room chat for a ‘fully engaged and social experience’.
The app, which will soon be available to users of Facebook and Android-powered handsets, currently features live matches from the English Premier League but this offering is to be expanded in the near future to cover other major soccer leagues and competitions.
“This is an interesting new segment for our operational subsidiaries and we want to learn more about its potential,” said Magnus Silfverberg, Chief Executive Officer for Stockholm-based Betsson.
“We are very excited about this new product and the partnership with OneUp Games.”
